Enhancing the Quality of Life and Well-Being of Assistive Device Users
We have long been promoting charitable causes, and this year, we have also focused on the increasing elderly population in Taiwan, which is expected to enter a super-aged society by 2025. Therefore, we launched the assistive device donation and recycling charity program.
This year, we implemented two assistive device donation programs: (1) The Assistive Device Donation Ceremony and (2) The Double Ninth Festival Donation Ceremony, donating a total of 16 types of items, comprising 76 brand-new assistive devices.
(1)Donation of New Assistive Devices to the Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government
This donation of assistive devices will be used by the Taipei City Assistive Device Center, which manages the free borrowing service of assistive devices for seniors, disadvantaged families, or those with emergency special borrowing needs. Director Shu-Wen Yao of the Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government, expressed gratitude to the Taipei Tsai Hsueh-Ni Charity Foundation, stating that this donation will help many people in need of assistive devices, improving their quality of life and enhancing their interaction and participation in society.
(2) In response to the Double Ninth Festival and to show respect for and care for the elderly, we held an assistive device donation program on 11th October 2024, donating wheelchairs and oxygen machines to the Huashan Social Welfare Foundation, hoping to enhance the mobility of elderly individuals.
President Winnie Wen Yu Chao of the Taipei Tsai Hsueh-Ni Charity Foundation stated: "Through this assistive device donation, we hope to provide tangible support to more elderly people and people with disabilities. By utilizing the recycling and lending of assistive devices, we can not only save resources but also ensure that more people in need receive timely assistance. With everyone's collective efforts, society can effectively address the challenges of an aging population, ensuring that everyone in need of assistive devices feels cared for and warm."
Taipei Tsai Hsueh-Ni Charity Foundation invites all sectors to join in promoting charitable efforts, further advancing the improvement of social welfare.
