Parent-Child Learning Support Program for Disadvantaged Families
Sharing the Joy of Learning
To ensure that children from disadvantaged families can also enjoy learning and share this experience with their parents, strengthening parent-child relationships, The Taipei Tsai Hsueh-Ni Charity Foundation provides educational materials, teachers, and courses. This initiative helps families improve their home environment and financial situation while ensuring they do not miss the opportunity to grow together.
From 2012 to 2015, the program assisted 62 parent-child pairs in Taipei, Banqiao, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. It focused on developing young children's abilities before they entered school while also providing parents with effective parenting methods and techniques. This helped enhance the concept and function of family education, equipping disadvantaged children with the skills needed for future learning.
The parents who participated in this program deeply valued the rare opportunity and resources provided. They found that both they and their children benefited greatly—children showed improvement in various areas of learning, while parents also enhanced their own parenting concepts, skills, and abilities.
