Reflections of Snow and Mud: Memories in Fabric – A Special Cheongsam Exhibition
Ms. Hsueh-Ni Tsai dedicated herself to the education of home economics, beauty, and fashion design from an early stage in her career. She imparted her expertise at institutions such as Shih Chien University and Taipei Municipal Zhongshan Girls High School, guiding countless students in realizing their dreams. The treasured cheongsam featured in this exhibition are the culmination of her lifelong journey of exploration, innovation, inheritance, and development. This event, an exquisite fusion of art, design, and culture, presents 144 cheongsam personally designed and crafted by Ms. Hsueh-Ni Tsai. "PRAXES X Hsueh-Ni Tsai" Brand Collaboration——A Perfect Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
Another highlight of the exhibition is the collaboration between the Taipei Tsai Hsueh-Ni Charity Foundation and the Department of Fashion Design at Shih Chien University.
To breathe new life into traditional cheongsam within contemporary fashion, Ms. Hsueh-Ni Tsai collaborated with designers from Shih Chien University to create 30 brand-new cheongsam. These designs seamlessly blend conventional elements with modern aesthetics, incorporating contemporary fashion accessories to revitalize the cheongsam. These reimagined cheongsam not only retain the classic elegance of Chinese fashion but also offer a refined interpretation of modern style.
Furthermore, this collaboration places a strong emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly design concepts. By utilizing innovative materials and design approaches, the modern cheongsam incorporates principles of environmental responsibility and sustainability, making them not only a symbol of fashion but also a statement of commitment to the planet.
Charity Sale to Support Fashion Design Education
During the exhibition, these 30 redesigned cheongsam will be available for charity sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Department of Fashion Design at Shih Chien University to enhance the department's equipment and resources, improve teaching quality, and further support the development of future design talents. This charity sale is not only a tribute to Ms. Hsueh-Ni Tsai's cheongsam designs but also a tangible contribution to social responsibility and education.
Cultural Heritage and Innovation for the Future
The Taipei Tsai Hsueh-Ni Charity Foundation has long been committed to promoting and preserving cultural arts, merging design with philanthropy to ensure that every exhibition and event serves as meaningful support for both society and the future. Through this exhibition, we aim to integrate traditional cheongsam culture with modern design, allowing more people to appreciate its beauty and depth while also making a valuable contribution to education.
